Block Instagram Reels: What Doplock can do on iPhone
Doplock blocks the entire Instagram app on iPhone, rather than Reels alone. This means you cannot access Reels inside the app while it is blocked. Direct messages, the feed and other Instagram features are also inaccessible in the blocked app.
Block only Reels or take a break from Instagram?
You might open Instagram to reply to a message and end up watching short videos. The distinction matters: a Reels-only block would target an individual feature inside Instagram. Doplock works at the level of the whole app.
- You want Instagram to stay closed during study or work: Blocking the entire app may fit your goal.
- You want continuous access to direct messages with only Reels removed: Doplock does not offer that feature.
- You want to block another account: That is an Instagram account function, not Doplock's purpose.
How Doplock supports a break from Reels
Set up Doplock with a compatible NFC card and your activation code. Select Instagram and activate its block. When you decide to use Instagram again, deliberately unlock with the configured card. Follow our step-by-step guide to blocking Instagram for the process.
You could leave the card in the hallway while working at your desk. That adds a physical step before reopening the app. Whether this helps depends on your routine.
If you need Instagram for messages
Before blocking the app, consider when you need to be available. You could try dedicated times to reply, keeping Instagram closed between them. If someone must be able to reach you urgently, agree on another communication channel that you keep available. Check which apps you select for blocking in Doplock.
Does it also block browsers and other devices?
This guide describes blocking the Instagram app on the iPhone where Doplock is configured. It does not imply an account-wide block on other devices or in every browser. Doplock neither deletes your Instagram account nor removes Reels from its interface.
Check before buying
Doplock currently supports iPhone; Android is planned. The Focus Card includes a personal activation code. The separately sold code requires your own compatible NFC card. Check the product information and contact Doplock if you need a particular feature.

Check your device, card and activation
The workflow described here requires an NFC-capable iPhone. Doplock’s App Store listing currently requires iOS 18.0 or later (checked on 31 October 2026). A listing for other Apple devices does not automatically confirm support for NFC card unlocking on those devices. Android is not currently offered as a supported product.
The Focus Card is a physical NFC card with an activation code included. The separately purchased code is digital and does not replace a card: you need your own compatible NFC card. Confirm compatibility before buying. See the Doplock FAQ for more answers and compare the card and code in the shop.
